Our Mission

Bringing people closer to the natural world.

HELPING EXPLORERS AND SCIENTISTS
TURN HEADLINES INTO HEADWAY

Voiijer is the social media app designed to give explorers the tools to easily collect and share images, video, audio, field notes, 3D scans, and metadata—all in single app. Built-in storytelling tools let you—and an enthusiastic audience—go as deep as you want, without interruptions or distractions.

SO WE CAN INFORM AND INSPIRE
A BETTER WORLD, TOGETHER.

Today’s digital platforms often distance us from the natural world, creating a concerning issue of environmental indifference. By engaging curiosity, sharing passions, and connecting us to the wild places in the world, we can inspire people to care about nature—around the world and in their own communities.

BECAUSE DISCOVERY IS THE DESTINATION.

No matter where you travel or what you witness through the eyes of an explorer, there are beautiful places everywhere that still belong to the wild unknown—just as we all do.

The world is our common ground.

The Voijjer Origin Story

In 2018, 35 people walked across a desert…

And what they found was almost lost to obscurity.

The idea for Voiijer began to take shape while leading the Roy Chapman Andrews Centennial Expedition across the Gobi desert in the fall of 2018.

This trek, named for the famed American explorer who many say inspired the Indiana Jones movies, gathered multidisciplinary experts from around the world to pinpoint likely fossil locations throughout the region.

Despite having the latest NASA and remote-sensing technology and a passionate team dedicated to meticulously documenting every discovery, we still lacked the tools needed to easily collect, correlate, and distribute everyone’s data.

It was little consolation knowing that even when we did succeed in organizing and sharing our information, this incredible story—revealed in its beautiful images, videos, sounds, and secrets—would hardly surface beyond a few obscure journals.

“It was then I started to wonder—how could we better collect, organize, and share our expedition with the world? How could we inspire others to become explorers themselves and help document our natural world? And then it occurred to me. The solution wasn’t just right in front of me. It was in my hand.”
